Imagine telling a train full of people, speeding down the tracks toward the next station, that the bridge is out. If anyone responded by ignoring you, they would be choosing to die!
Everyday though, we are racing toward a reality more certain than a train wreck… death. Don't ignore this, because after death there is either heaven with God on the other side, or hell below.
There is a great gap between man and God, we need a bridge to Him
The Bible says the human race has left God and is separated from Him: “But your sins have made a separation between you and your God, and... have hidden His face from you.” (Isaiah 59:2). We've all done wrong, whether we've lied, stolen or thought evil things. In fact, the greatest wrong we've done is just ignoring God, our Creator. Sin separates us from God. That separation becomes final at death.
Jesus is the only bridge to take us from this life to the next in safety
The great news for us is that through Jesus Christ, we now have a bridge back to God. Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no-one comes to the Father (God) except through me.” (John 14:6).
Jesus is the bridge to the love of God and real quality of life, now and forever
He came to us because He loves us as the Bible says: “For God so loved the world He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16).
Trust Jesus as the bridge to God by receiving Him as your Saviour
"But to all who believed Him and accepted Him, He gave the right to become children of God." (John 1:12). Jesus died on the cross to take the penalty of our sin, which is death. He rose from the dead to show His power over death, and His ability to give everlasting life. You trust Him when you believe this great news, and by faith receive His forgiveness, putting your life in His hands. It's like stepping onto a bridge and trusting it willl hold you up from falling to your death.
